Anna Marie Mitchell Meeting Room naming reception 02/11/10
Anna Marie Mitchell thought she was simply attending a regular faculty/staff coffee hour on Thursday, Feb. 11. But as she approached the refreshment table, she noticed a cake bearing her name and was suddenly aware of people – many more than usually in attendance - all looking at her and smiling. Anna Marie soon discovered the large gathering of Waldorf and community friends were there to celebrate the new naming of the faculty lounge – now the Anna Marie Mitchell Meeting Room. Mitchell retired as international student advisor at Waldorf College in 2006 after 23 years of service, which included positions from residence hall director to Japanese instructor. Her most esteemed, yet unofficial, title was that of full-time “mother/grandmother” to hundreds of international students who came to Waldorf College. (11.02.2010, 21 Photos)
